What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a meditative experience where those in attendance are 'bathed' in sound waves. These waves are produced by various healing instruments. Moonwater Planet use gongs, crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, percussion, chimes, tuning forks and, occasionally, the voice. Each sound bath is different and will offer a unique journey to each individual. Individually tailored sound baths can be created to your requirements.
What do I need to bring to a Sound Bath?
The general 'rule' is to bring a yoga mat, pillow and light blanket. Anything you need to be as comfortable as possible. Some people bring bed toppers or sleeping bags. If you prefer to meditate sitting down, chairs will be provided but please bring a light blanket. A bottle of water is also a great idea. Please don't bring inflatable airbeds or foldaway loungers. As Moonwater Planet's Sound Baths travel to different locations, the requirements for each may differ but Moonwater Planet will always let you know beforehand.
Do you provide one-to-one sound healing?
benjamin at Moonwater Planet is very happy to provide you with one-to-one sound healing. The different frequencies of sound healing instruments affect different organs, emotions, illnesses, diseases, chakras and trauma. Having a sound therapy session personally tuned to your needs is dramatically beneficial. benjamin uses a combination of tuning forks, gongs, crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, Koshi chimes, conch shell and shakers to bring your body, mind and spirits' natural vibrations into alignment. Different sound tools will be used depending on your requirements or preferences.
What happens during a Sound Bath?
benjamin will lead you into the Sound Bath with a short introduction and some relaxing words before playing the selected instruments - often using his beautiful Paiste 38" symphonic gong, 24" Paiste Venus gong, a smaller Wu Han wind gong, crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, Peter Hess healing bowls and various Koshi chimes. As a participant you can lie on your back, sometimes referred to as the Savasana position in yoga, adopt the lotus position or simply sit in a chair for the duration of the 'bath'. Whichever way you feel most comfortable is perfect. At the end of the Sound Bath, benjamin will let the sounds from the instruments fade before gently talking you back from your journey.
